There are so many spectacular flowering trees, but the royal poinciana
(Delonix regia) must be at the top for sheer extravaganza.
The first photo is of the tree on the other side of the road. It's not the typical shape, which is umbrella-like. The second photo, taken one block away, is more like it. You can also see two more further down, and in May and June, this is a common sight -- a tunnel of vermilion.
Poincianas (also known as flamboyants or flame trees) are true tropicals and I'm not sure how far north it grows, but probably not above Lake Okeechobee.
The first time I ever saw one I was visiting Guiana with my father. As I stood gobsmacked by the glorious sight, my poor old dad couldn't understand what I was talking about. Turns out that poincianas are all brown if you have red/green color blindness. Sadly, I also have the gene since I passed it on to my son. He can't appreciate them, either.

We also have lots of Poincianas in blooming in my neck of the woods. They are so pretty!
These are drop-dead gorgeous!!! Love them! We do have a half-dozen old trees in my neck of the woods, which is north of the big lake. I even had one in my front lawn once. They are, I'm sure, more rare this far north, but it makes them all the more show-stopping when you see one in bloom. Must be nice to live where they bloom in abundance.
Wow. You have so many beautiful blooming trees in your area. They are truly breath-taking when all grouped near one another.
What always amazes me is that people say they don't want one because of the mess the flowers make! I see the fallen flowers as pretty mulch!
What a shame that you can't appreciate the flaming orange color of this beautiful tree. They freeze here in the center part of the state, so enjoy them.

That's a beautiful tree and the blooms are spectacular.
btw, I think something may be off as I can't see the seed GROW post you said you posted. Also, do you think you can sow again for the fall? I can ask them to send you another pack that maybe you can plant when the weather is warmer.
