Bob, the baby Eastern screech owl

If you're on Facebook, I urge you to find, and become a fan of, "Bob." He, and possibly some siblings, lives in a cavity nest in a mango tree in friends' backyard. Since the homeowners are Miami Herald photographers, the photos are spectacular. And Bob was born to be a star!

BTW, the photo is NOT of Bob. I took this some months ago at Fairchild.

Oh how cute! We have screech owls hanging out in our oak trees at night. They don't screech though, just a weird trilling sound.

I don't know why they're called screech owls because they certainly don't screech. We have them around here, too. I must put up some bird boxes for next year

The Red Tail hawk (in my blog) is the only hawk that I have ever seen in Coral Gables. So I Googled it and found that the Red Tail sometimes have albino birds in the family. Yes I know it looks more like a pigeon in the picture. It was much larger then a pigeon and it stayed for a hour in that tree.
